My clients were building a home in Chicago and wanted the interior to reflect not only their lifestyle, but their experiences as well. They love to travel, lived in Japan for a number of years and entertain frequently.
Because this was new construction, we had a blank slate — which is always fun! These clients wanted a Zen-like feel for the home, with a balance of warm and cool. I designed cabinetry and shelving in addition to specifying options for countertops, tile, carpet, fixtures and more — all with a clean, calm sensibility in mind. Different textures provide visual interest, and open areas provide ample space for guests to gather and mingle.
“Amy is a gem! She helped us immensely, both in developing an interior design concept for our new home and in executing it efficiently, on time and on budget. … Amy made the complex process of building a home much more enjoyable than we ever imagined, and we love the results!”
